2005 Andrew Poe F5 Mandolin
(Serial #1) Excellent plus condition. This is Poe serial number 1 - but Andrew Poe previously built 23 mandolins under the Driftwood name. You just know he put a little more effort into this as it was the first one with his name on the peghead. The pride of craftmanship shows in every detail of this outstanding mandolin. It has all the good stuff - hand applied varnish finish, red spruce top, spectacular highly flamed maple back, sides and neck, abalone pearl peghead logo and Fern inlay, 1 1/8 inch nut, radiused ebony fretboard and bridge, double bound with both top and side binding, and gold James tailpiece and Waverly tuners with ebony buttons. Has a handmade bound ebony pickguard that is easily removable with just two screws. Finish removed on the back of the neck to give a smooth fast action. Very clean mandolin showing almost no wear. Big chop and a solid woody tone, cutting trebles, just set up so it plays nice and easy. Its ready to go hunt down some banjos! Comes with a nice hardshell case.
