2012 Martin D45 Custom Shop Guitar
(Serial No. 1598418) Mint unplayed condition. The D-45 holds the distinction of being the most costly and lavishly trimmed guitar in the standard Martin line. More than 900 individual pieces of abalone pearl inlay are hand filed, mitered and fitted into the bindings of the top, sides, back and rosette. Large "C.F. Martin" letter inlays, also of colorful abalone, adorn the headstock. Abalone hexagon inlays are used as position markers on the bound ebony fingerboard. This guitar was part of a custom order for Guitar Center. The guitar features an Alpine spruce top, Madagascar rosewood back and sides, hide glue construction, and scalloped Golden Era style Adirondack bracing. All of these are premium upgrades. The tuners are gold plated Gotahs (stamped Martin) with gold butterbean buttons. Ebony bridge. The D-45 truly represents the culmination of the guitar making art. Its a spectacular instrument in both sound and appearance. Nice low action - plays like silk - with that famous Martin sound. Fitted with a K&K bridge plate pickup.
