2014 Ed Foley Dreadnaught Guitar
(Serial #256) New with warranty. Ed Foley of Moravia, NY builds some of the best guitars around. He is a one man custom shop who is well known in Nashville. Many Nashville pros - George Strait and Joe Diffie are two - use his guitars. More info is on his web page at http://www.foleyguitars.com. This is one of his prototype hybrid braced guitars. Its based on the Gibson slope shoulder dreadnaught body, with a long Martin style scale length at 25.4 inches to give it more resonance. Back and sides are figured mahogany, the top is Andirondack (red) spruce, and has top binding, side binding, peghead overlay and soundhole rosette of tortoise, and old style nickle Waverly open back tuners. Ivory nut is the standard 1 11/16 inch on the ebony fretboard. The workmanship is first class. Eds logo is a engraved steer skull on the peghead. The guitar plays like butter and the sound is what you look for in a good bluegrass or country guitar - lots of volume with a good boom on the bottom and nice tone everywhere on the neck. The hybrid bracing gives a powerful punch to the sound without losing the clear tone. The look and sound make this a perfect stage guitar for a bluegrass band. Comes with a nice hardshell case.
