1914 Gibson A- Mandolin

(Serial No. 18226 FON11152) Excellent condition. Nice sounding and playing session mandolin. Natural finish top that has aged to pumpkin color and a reddish back and sides. No peghead logo as per factory, top bound only with unbound back, and it has the original Gibson label (A-) inside. Hardware is original, finish is original but I think was oversprayed at some time in the past with a clear coat, as the finish on the wood does not match the tarnish on the metal parts. I suppose it could be a very clean mandolin fitted with older correct parts, but I doubt it. Fitted with a Loar replica bridge from Cumberland Acoustic. Shows almost no wear. Big open woody round hole sound. Comes with the original hardshell case.
