1917 Martin Style 6 Mandolin

(Serial No. 5729) Excellent condition. This was the next to the top of the line for Martin bowlback mandolins. Has 42 fluted Brazilian rosewood ribs seperated by very thin pearl or ivory inlay, abalone trimmed top and soundhole, ivory trimmed cap, engraved plate rear mount tuners with Handel buttons. Looks like a small repair to the open arch at the top of the peghead, otherwise no repairs are noted. Stamped Martin on the back of the peghead. Original ivory bridge. All original finish and hardware. Neck set is good - this is a very playable mandolin. Comes with the original shaped case.
