2018 Martin D42 Guitar

(Serial No. 2251876) Near mint condition - looks nearly unplayed. Near mint almost unplayed condition. Part of Martins reimagined Standard Series, the D-42 is the closest to the prewar guitars. The guitar has Indian rosewood back and sides and a Sitka top with forward shifted scalloped X-bracing. There is abalone binding on the top, soundhole rosette, and around the fretboard extension. The fretboard inays are snowflakes and the top binding and soundhole rosette are abalone, and the back is bound in multiply black/white with a zipper backstrip. The CF Martin name is inlaid in abalone in the headstock. Has the old style open back gold tuners with gold butterbean buttons. 1 3/4 inch nut on the ebony fretboard, with 45 style snowflake fretboard inlays and the CF Martin name inlaid in abalone on the peghead. Martin uses their best woods on their 40 series guitars and it shows. The sound is powerful, with a clear bass, strong midranges and the signature Martin boom in the bass. Plays very easily with a nice low action. It has a L.R. Baggs active I Beam system installed with a volume control at the soundhole. Comes with the original Geib style Martin hardshell case. Its a spectacular instrument in both sound and appearance. Comes with the original Geib style case. You deserve to own a pearl-trimmed Martin at least once in your life!
