1917 Gibson F4 Mandolin
(Serial No. 32879 FON 3244) Excellent condition. Original hardware and true red sunburst finish. This is the classic 20s scroll mandolin with the inlaid Handel tuners and the beautiful double flowerpot peghead inlay. Has a flamed birch 2 piece back and Adirondack red spruce top. This is a very good sounding F4 with that wonderful woody round hole Gibson tone, and it plays beautifully. No repairs or refinish evident. It does show a little playing wear as seen in the pictures, but that is because it sounds so good, pickers played it! This was not a case queen. Excellent for Celtic, jazz, classical, or old-time music. Comes with the original Gibson hard shell case.
