1923 Martin 2-17 Guitar
(Serial No. 19292) Excellent condition. These small body all mahogany Martins are great for blues, with that warm sound only a mahogany top will give. Its only 12 inchs wide at the lower bout with a 24 inch scale, 1 3/4 inch nut and 2 3/8 inch bridge spacing. The slot head tuners were replaced in the 1960s with Klusons. The finish is original and the guitar retains the original bar frets. Action is good. The saddle is most of the way down but it plays wonderfully as it is. The only repair noted is a small ding repaired near the endpin on the bottom edge of the guitar. Its a perfect travel or sitting on the couch guitar. Has a huge sound all out of proportion to the small size. It also makes a dynamite slide guitar; string it up with mediums, tune it to open G, and roar! Comes with a newer hardshell case.
