1964 Martin 00-18 Guitar
(Serial Number 194641) Very good condition with one significant repair. Nicely aged Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides. Indian rosewood peghead overlay with gold Martin script. Fitted with the original Grover openback tuners. Nice big open woody sound with strong volume. Plays extremely well with low action as the neck was just reset by luthier Jack Dillen. Shows the evidence of being used to make music for 60 years, as it has the usual nicks, dings and pickwear, and the top has turned a nice orange. Neck is straight, frets were just dressed and crowned. There was a side crack caused by dryness on the bass side, which has been professionally repaired, and there is a strap burn (caused by long term contact with a vinyl strap) in the middle of the back. These do not affect either playabililty or tone. It has a wonderful even tone - this would be a great recording guitar. Comes with a nice hardshell case.
