2019 Kevin Kopp Nick Lucas 13 Guitar
(Serial Number 0142919) Mint nearly unplayed condition. I took this in trade from a picker who bought it new, and the guitar literally has 8 hours playing time. It is essentially new and mint. The Nick Lucas by luthier Kevin Kopp is the flagship instrument in his line. Specializing in old world, Gibson-style acoustic guitars, Kevin has not only worked with the most experienced Gibson luthiers on the planet, he is also inspired them. A one-man operation from start to finish, Kevins eye for detail and ear for tone is literally unmatched. The tone of this one is old, loud, and extremely full sounding, like a seasoned vintage guitar, not new. I can only imagine what it will be like in 5-10 years. It is 1-3/4 inch nut width on the ebony fretboard, scale length is 24.5 inches, the bridge string width is 2-1/4 inch pin to pin. It is all hide glue construction with Adirondack red spruce braces, a 14 5/8 inch wide Gibson L series body shape, 13 fret neck joint, 4 5/8 inch body depth, Sitka top with curley maple back and sides, hand-rubbed sunburst finish (.004 inch thick), traditional Nick Lucas fretboard and fleur-de-li peghead inlays. Here is a short video clip of this guitar played by Ed Hyp of Allegheny Valley Guitars. Comes with the original TKL hard case.
