2007 Tom Ellis F5 Deluxe Mandolin
(Serial No. 118) Near mint condition, looks almost unplayed. Tom Ellis is considered one of the top mandolin luthiers building today. Outstanding mandolin with a powerful smooth midrange, deep woody chop and clear ringing trebles. Gloss varnish finish with a dark sunburst finish top, back and sides. The top is Adirondack red spruce with traditional tone bar bracing and the sides and one piece back are figured sugar maple. The bridge and radiused fretboard are ebony. Note that the fretboard is scooped and deliberately shortened to eliminate pick click. Pearl logo and peghead inlay. Fitted with gold Waverly tuners, an engraved gold one piece James tailpiece, and both a factory ebony pickguard and ebony arm rest. No repairs or other issues noted.
