1923 Gibson A1
(Serial # 74245 FON 11952) Excellent condition. Snakeheads are considered the best sounding of Gibson oval hole mandolins, as they ring out and punch well. Black top finish and a brownish back and sides. No logo as made but it does have the original Gibson label inside. Bridge, tail piece and tuners are original with the fleur-di-lise backing plates and ivoriod buttons. Missing the pickguard. Just set up by my luthier Richie Dotson. Frets are fine and neck set it good. Shows some playing wear as well as a few nicks and dings, but overall a nice solid mandolin. Plays easy with the great round hole tone. Excellent for Celtic, old time and jazz. Comes with a original hardshell case.
