1924 Gibson A Snakehead Mandolin
(Serial No. XX742_FON8229) Excellent minus
condition showing some honest playing wear. Its a Loar era
snakehead with the black top finish. Has a few small nicks and dings as
expected and shows somw shirt button wear on the back. There is a
little typical finish checking. Has an expertly repaired nearly invisible peghead crack which is so well done you will not notice it unless you look for it. All finish and hardware
is original. Has the truss rod in the neck.
Frets are fine, neck is straight, top has a good arch. Great
playability and sound - the classic round hole Gibson punch and
volume. Would be a very fine session instrument. Excellent for Irish,
Celtic, and old time music. Comes with the original hardshell case.
