1934 Martin 00-17 Guitar
(Serial No. 57172) Excellent condition. Big volume from this guitar, very clear tone. Original finish. All mahogany body including the top gives these guitars a warm rich sound perfect for blues and fingerstyle. Has the original ebony 1 3/4 inch ebony nut and the neck profile is the 30s era Martin V neck . The peghead overlay, bridge and and fingerboard are Brazilian rosewood with the pre-war small fingerboard dots and a gold Martin script logo in the peghead. The tuners should be clipped and riveted Grovers. As these wore out some time ago, the original owner replaced the tuners with 1940s or 50s era Grovers with the same footprint as the originals. Nice easy action as the neck was just invisibility reset by luthier Richie Dotson, a new exact replica Brazilian rosewood bridge was made and installed by Richie, the original bar frets were dressed and the guitar was set up beautifully. Shows some player wear with a few nicks, dings and pickwear. No cracks which is unusual for an 85 year old mahogany guitar, but there is a gouge on the edge of the treble side. No structual repairs evident. Here is a short video clip of this instrument played by Richie. Comes with a newer hard shell case.
