1940 National Style 0 Guitar
(Serial No. C4534) Blues approved! Excellent condition cosmetically, excellent condition soundwise. This is a late Style 0 from the last years of prewar production with the etched palm trees, mountains and the canoe on the back. Has the 14 fret body, 1 3/4 inch nut, solid peghead, valve cover style enclosed tuners, parallelagran fretboard inlay, and the original cone. Has the chickenfoot resonator cover plate like the one on the Dire Straights CD. Some minor wear, especially on the bridge cover, but no significant dents or breaks. Pickguard is a modern reproduction. The neck was reset and the guitar set up by my luthier Harry Eibert. Plays perfectly with the sound you are looking for in a prewar National. There are the remains of a American flag decal on the back of the guitar. This could be removed, but I thought it looked pretty cool so I left it. Comes with a newer hardshell case.
