1941 Gibson F5 Mandolin

(Serial #95447) Gibson F5 customized and used by Bob Ensign of the Stump Jumpers. Bob has his name engraved on the 15th fret. Here is a You Tube video clip of the Stump Jumpers featuring this mandolin. The customization is mostly cosmetic; The fretboard was heavily inlaid with custon pearl work, the tuners were changed for what looks like a set of Gotahs with engraved buttons, the tailpiece cover was engraved, and the peghead overlay was (probably) changed out to a Fern pattern inlay. I say "probably" as most of the F5s from this era had a fleur-di-list as the peghead ornament. No breaks or cracks. Hard to say if its all original finish but there is no obvious refinish or overspray. The mandolin is playable but would benefit from a good set up. Nice newer hardshell case included.
