1945 Martin 00-18 Guitar
(Serial No. 92795) Excellent condition. Great sounding and playing small body guitar. Adirondack spruce top with scalloped braces, mahogany back and sides, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge - whats not to like? All the good stuff coming to you in a small couch friendly package. Very well balanced guitar with a big open woody sound and strong volume. It would be a fabulous recording guitar. Has the standard 1-11/16 nut. Peghead overlay and fingerboard are Brazilian rosewood with gold Martin script logo. The neck was just reset by luthier Ward Elliott so the action is low with plenty of saddle. There is a repaired area on the lower side that is probably a jack hole repair. Tuners have been changed for nickel open back Grovers as used on Martin small bodies from the 60's. Has an ebony truss rod so its light and responsive. Wartime peghead has no tuner bushings as built. Shows player wear with the usual nicks, dings and pickwear. The top has turned a nice orange and the lighting shows the runout in the book matched top. That is not a modified top, its one piece of wood that was sawed and book matched end to end. The grain shows differently in direct light which gives the appearance of two different pieces of wood. Neck is straight, frets were just dressed and crowned. Strap button added at the heel. Comes with a newer hardshell case.
