1954 Martin 000-18 Guitar
(Serial No. 1139622) Excellent restored condition. Nicely aged spruce top and ribbon mahogany back and sides. Martin is supposed to have used Andirondack spruce for the tops until the early 50's, but no one can really tell by looking at it. To be sure, you have put it under a microscope in a lab. Weighs almost nothing - this guitar is light as a feather. The guitar has undergone a complete restoration, including a complete refinish (except for the face of the peghead). The refinish is a excellent job - it was done in the original style nitro lacquer, and it is very thin - you can see the pores of the wood. Tuners were changed to reissue Klusons. The neck was reset and the frets dressed. Has a Martin C shaped neck profile with a roswood fretboard and the standard 1 11/16 nut width. The action was set low and comfortable with plenty of saddle left. No structural repairs noted. Has a nice big open woody sound with strong volume. Comes with a newer hardshell case.
