1957 Gibson Country Western Guitar
(Serial No. U3287 23) Excellent condition. The
Country Western is the same model as the Southern Jumbo but with a
natural finish top. Otherwise the guitars are identical. Fabulous
sounding guitar that really nails the
Gibson midrangy dreadnaught sound. Natural top finish, Sitka spruce
top,
mahogany back and sides, Brazilian bound rosewood fretboard with double
parallelogram inlays and Brazilian bridge, and seven layers of top
binding. The
Kluson tuners are original with (I think) new aged buttons. The frets
are in good
shape and the neck is straight. Original finish and no repairs other
than a minor pickguard crack repair at the top of the soundhole. Has
the usual nicks and dings of a well loved guitar. Plays great with a
nice low action as the guitar was set up by
luthier Jerry Ray here in Richmond. Has a nice big open woody sound
with strong volume and good midrange - exactly what you are looking for
in a slope shoulder Gibson dread. Comes with a newer hardshell case.
