1962 Gibson J45 Guitar

(FON No. 9321 15) Excellent condition. This is one of those easy, smooth playing guitars you start picking and realize hours later you are still playing! Plays nice and easy - its as comfortable as old pair of boots. The sound just rolls out of this guitar. Its been played a fair amount and it is loud, very responsive and open sounding. It really nails the slope shoulder Gibson midrangy dreadnaught sound. Excellent for backing up fiddle tunes or singers. Tobacco sunburst finish, spruce top, mahogany back and sides, larger upper point original pickguard, Brazilian rosewood fretboard with dot inlays and original upper belly Brazilian bridge with fixed saddle. Standard 1 11/16 bone nut. The Kluson tuners are originals and they work well. Its just been refretted so the frets and fretboard are in excellent shape and the neck is straight. Braces were reglued as needed. Shows some significant finish checking and lots of nicks, dings and playing wear as would be expected with a well loved guitar, but overall a solid instrument. No cracks, repaired or otherwise, and no structual repairs other than the reglued braces. Apparently "Mitchell" used to own this guitar, as the shadow of letters can still be seen on the top. Comes with a newer hardshell case or the original rather beat brown alligator softshell.
