1962 Martin D28 Guitar
(Serial No. 181410) Excellent condition. This is an outstanding bluegrass guitar with all the punch you expect in a older Martin. Nicely aged spruce top and highly figured Brazilian rosewood back and sides. I suspect this guitar had a recent neck set, as the action is perfect. No cracks or crack repairs - not even a guard crack. Has the standard 1 11/16 inch nut and an ebony fingerboard and bridge. Has the desirable long saddle bridge and the small maple bridge plate. Rosewood peghead overlay with gold Martin script. Plays easy with low action, and has a nice big open woody sound with strong volume. Has the expected finish checking, pickwear, and the usual nicks and dings of a well loved and much played guitar. Finish and hardware are original. There is a Forbes decal on the back of the peghead - I have no idea why. Here is a link to a video of the guitar as played by by luthier Richie Dotson at Acoustic Box LLC (www.acousticbox.com) here in Chesterfield VA. Comes with an older maybe original hardshell case.
