1964 Gibson Country Western Guitar

(Serial No. 205319) Excellent and well played condition. The Country Western is the same guitar as the Southern Jumbo but with a natural top. This guitar is a pickers dream - there are no structural repairs, the neck has been recently reset, the guitar was refretted, and the plastic bridge with an adjustable saddle was replaced with a exact reproduction Brazilan rosewood bridge with a straight bone saddle. All work was done by luthier Richie Dotson. The guitar has mahogany back and sides, a solid Sitka spruce top with the desirable tall thin bracing (similar to early Hummingbirds), and a Brazilian rosewood fretboard with pearl slotted parallelogram inlays. The Gibson logo and crown in the peghead are pearl. Neck is straight, frets are good. Finish and hardware are original with the exception of the bridge. The action is nice and low. Shows some significant playing wear, especially between the pickguard and bridge, probably because it sounds so good! Here is a short video clip of this instrument played by Richie. This is a excellent sounding nicely aged Gibson. Comes with a newer hardshell case.
