1966 Martin D28 Guitar
(Serial No. 214540) Very clean guitar, excellent repaired condition with only minor playing wear. Has the usual Martin pick guard crack that has been cleated but that's it for repairs. Just back from a neck reset and fret work by luthier Richie Dotson. Old growth figured Brazilian rosewood back and sides, Sitka spruce top, ebony fretboard and bridge, and a standard 1-11/16 inch nut. Original nickle Grover Rotomatic tuners. Neck is straight, frets are good, neck set is good. Nice low action. Has the pocket saddle which makes it easy to add a pickup and the small maple bridge plate, which helps give this guitar that big booming Martin sound. It must have been played as a lefty for a while as it has the shadow of another pick guard on the bass side. Bridge shows the slightest indication it may have been off and on, and there is a very well-repaired heel crack. It is repaired so well I did not see it when I bought the guitar, and I did not find until I used a blacklight. Comes with a newer Martin hardshell case.
