1970 Martin D-28 Guitar

(Serial No. 268816) Excellent minus condition. This is the classic Martin D-28 - solid Indian rosewood back and sides and a solid spruce top. Original finish shows some honest playing wear and nicks and dings, but no major repairs or issues. Neck is straight, neck set is good and the frets are fine. Original black pickguard. The saddle has been intonated to note correctly up the neck. White plastic strap button added at the neck. Looks like there was a jack near the endpin at one time as there is a small area only in the plastic bottom trim strip that has been filled. I also think the bridge may be a bit oversized, but there is no evidence that this bridge has been off and on so it could easily be factory. The previous owner must have been Hawk, as he wrote his name inside on the back brace. This guitar has that solid Martin "boom" you need in a good bluegrass guitar. The saddle is low but it plays very easy with a nice action. This is a excellent sounding well played and nicely aged D-28. Comes with an older non-original hardshell case.
