1979 ODE Model 6500 Banjo
(Serial No. 2-79-24) Excellent condition. Often referred to as a Style D, this is a Baldwin era top of the line ODE banjo with walnut neck and resonator with two concentric rings, and the patented tone ring as first developd by Chuck Ogsbury. Pearl inlay in the peghead and fretboard, all gold hardware, engraved armrest and tailpiece which show some plating wear, pearl tuner buttons, 5th string sliding capo added. Frets are good, neck is straight, fingerboard shows some minor playing wear in the upper frets only. No buckle wear on the back. Peghead has not been bumped or bruised. Three peice neck has center sandwich with excellent finish. Neck adjustment key is included. All finish and hardware is original. Set up well with good action and great volume. For a melodic style player, the tone is that perfect combination of bell like overtones and ringing highs. Comes with the original Balwin ODE hardshell case with the Gretsch logo.
