1983 Martin Style A Mandolin
(Serial No. A26238) Martin mandolin are built to the same high standard as their guitars. This is not a bluegrasser, but for any other music this is a great mandolin. In 1983 the mandolin was a special order from Martin, hence the unusual tailpiece. The mandolin is very clean and in near mint conditioncondition. Babk and sides are mahogany and the top is Sitka spruce. Has a rosewood fretboard and bridge, black binding, and nickle Schaller tuners with pearl buttons. Just professionally refretted and set up by luthier Richie Dotson so it plays like silk with a nice low action. No cracks or repairs. Good strong volume with a nice tone. Here is a short video clip of this instrument played by Richie. Great for old-time, Celtic, or jazz. Comes with the original hardshell case.
