1990 Gibson J-185

(Serial No. 92200011) Excellent condition showing only light playing wear. Blond finish, first year of reissue, classic small body jumbo with a 16 1/8 inch wide lower bout. Has highly figured maple back and sides with Sitka spruce top, 14 fret mahogany neck, peghead has pearl logo and crown inlay. Has a bound rosewood fretboard with pear split parallelogram inlays, rosewood reverse belly bridge with pearl cross inlays, tortoise plastic pickguard, Kluson Deluxe tuners with single ring keystone buttons. 1 11/16 inch nut and has the longer 25 1/2 inch scale, which I think gives better tone and sustain than the usual short scale on these. Good sounding guitar with clear bass and a midrangey bright tone that cuts through in a band setting. No repairs and only a few small nicks and dings. The only issue I see is some slight finish lifting where the tuners rings were screwed down too tight at the factory. Looks like the endpin was drilled for a pickup jack, but the guitar currently has an endpin fitted. Good low action. Here is a short video clip of this instrument played by luthier Richie Dotson of Acoustic Box LLC in Chesterfield VA. Comes with a newer TKL dreadnaught hardshell case....USD $2150
