1990 Martin J-40M Guitar

(Serial No. 495278) Excellent condition showing some minor playing wear. The small jumbo body style sometimes called a 0000 size will sit more comfortably in your lap than the usual dreadnaught. Despite having "M" in the model name the back and sides are Indian rosewood, the top is Sitka spruce and the fingerboard and bridge are ebony. 15 7/8 inch lower bout, 6 ply top binding and soundhole rosette, decal logo, and the very cool D45 style abalone hexagon fingerbaord inlays. Gold tuners and endpin jack, but there is no pickup in the guitar. Shows a few minors bumps and dings indicating it ws used to play music, but these are minor and too small to photograph. Good sounding guitar used extensively on praise recordings by the original owner. Nice even sound across the strings for fingerstyle but has that signature Martin boom on the bottom end if you dig in with the pick. The frets were just dressed and the guitar set up by Jerry Ray, my local luthier. Plays smooth as silk with a nice low action. Comes with a very nice, well fitting hardcase which may not be original as it does not look like the usual Martin case but it fits the guitar like a glove.
