1992 Martin HD28 Guitar

(Serial No. 512932) Excellent condition. I have owned a lot of Martin dreadnaughts, and this is one of the strongest ones I have owned. The guitar was owned by a band that played the guitar almost daily for years. The sound is the reason D-28s and HD-28s are the bluegrass standard and this guitar is a good example. Its got a nice big open woody sound with strong volume and that big Martin boom on the bottom end. This guitar is clean - anything you see in the pictures that looks like a blemish is a reflection. It has a beautiful Sitka spruce top, with nice striped chocolate colored Indian rosewood back and sides. Has the herringbone top trim and the advanced scalloped bracing like the prewar guitars. Tuners have been upgraded to nickle openback Waverlys. Fitted with an undersaddle pickup with a discreet soundhole volume control wheel and an endpin jack. Strap button added at the heel. Here is a short video clip here of this guitar played by luthier Richie Dotson of Acoustic Box LLC in Chesterfield, VA. Action is beautiful - nice and low. Comes with the original Martin hardshell case.
