1993 Gibson F5L Mandolin
(Serial No. 3568089) Excellent condition. Sunburst finish. This is the classic Gibson scroll mandolin - long neck, f-holes, elevated fingerboard, heavily flamed maple back and sides, solid spruce top, bound ebony fingerboard, gold plated hardware, and the Fern peghead inlay. In 1993 this model was the top of the line for Gibson. This was made in the Bozeman, Montana plant, and was signed by luthier Phil Brugg on August 2, 1993. Shows almost no minor playing wear - this is a clean instrument. The only wear evident is on the gold plating at the tuners and tailpice. The frets were lightly dressed and the mandolin has just been set up by my local luthier. Action is great - easy and low. This mandolin sounds great with a strong chop and bark. Here is a video clip of this mandolin as played by by luthier Richie Dotson of Acoustic Box LLC in Chesterfield VA. Comes with a very clean newer TKL rectangular hardshell case with case cover. This is a really good mandolin.
