1996 Gibson F5V Mandolin

(Serial No. 61183049) Excellent plus condition, varnish sunburst finish. This is the classic Gibson scroll mandolin - long neck, f-holes, elevated fingerboard, heavily flamed maple sides and back, solid spruce top, bound ebony flat fingerboard, and the pearl logo and Fern style peghead inlay. Tuners are nickle Schallers and the tailpiece and cover are silver plated like the Monroe model. This was the premium F5 model made with the best woods and a varnish finish and was produced in very limited quantities. It is the same model as the current F5 Fern Varnish. This was made in the Bozeman, Montana plant and was signed by Bruce Weber. Shows almost no playing wear. Just set up by my local luthier Jerry Ray so the action is great - easy and low. Good woody woof, excellent chop and bark and this mandolin will cut a banjo. Newer hardshell case.
