1997 Tucker A5 Mandolin

(Serial No. 008A97) Excellent condition. Except for one top ding near the bass F hole, I'd call this mandolin near mint. Melvin Tucker was friends with John Hutto; these two luthiers shared a lot of info between themselves, and both put out put some fine mandolins. This is one of them. Classic A5 style with the long neck, snake head peghead shape, highly flamed maple back and sides, red spruce top, ebony fretboard and bridge, and gold hardware including Schaller tuners with pearl buttons. All original finish and hardware. The fretboard is scooped to eliminate pick click. Strap button added at the heel. No repairs, refinish, or changed parts. Very powerful mandolin with a nice dry, woody tone, good cut and volume. Comes with the original shaped case, stenciled Tucker.
