2002 Gibson F9 Mandolin
(Serial No. 20709010) Excellent condition. Original hardware and finish Uniform brown lacquer with a satin finish. These are made by Gibson USA but with a thinner finish and lighter weight than the F5L. That contributes to the sound. This is the "no frills" F5 style scroll mandolin for Gibson, but it still has all the design features that give the F5 its legendary tone, including a hand-fitted dovetail neck joint, maple neck, sides and back, solid Sitka spruce top, tone bar bracing, and a hand-tuned tone chamber. Has the traditional Loar style flat unbound ebony fretboard with a V profile neck and a traditional 1 inch bone nut. Pearl logo in the peghead. Body is top bound only in black. No pickguard as made by Gibson. Very good sounding mandolin with good response all across the strings and up and down the neck.
