2004 Eastman 615 Blonde F5 Style Mandolin
(Serial No. 105) Near mint condition, blonde lacquer finish, built in China. Most builders do not like to make blonde mandolins - without a sunburst, you cannot hide binding errors. They have to be perfect. Well, I don't know if this mandolin is perfect, but at least the binding is error free. Plays nice and sounds pretty good, too. Here is a short video clip of this instrument played by luthier Richie Dotson of Acoustic Box LLC in Chesterfield, VA. Nice early Eastman 615 with a spruce top and heavily flamed maple back and sides. Has a 1 1/8 inch nut on the traditional flat ebony fretboard, which is also scooped to eliminate pick click. Fitted with a one piece tailpiece and a Dotson Loar replica bridge, and set up by Richie. Very clean mandolin with no repairs or other issues noted. Comes with a nice hardshell case.
