(Serial No. 10735) Near mint condition, anything that looks like a flaw is likely a reflection. Beautiful guitar with a German spruce top, pre-war style scalloped X bracing, dreadnaught depth body, tigerstripe pickguard, grained ivoriod rosette and binding, mahogany back and sides, and an ebony fretboard with a 1 11/16 inch nut, 25.5 inch scale and an ebony bridge with 2 3/16 inch string spacing. Has a medium-fat C shaped neck profile, and nickle Schaller tuners with ebony buttons. The Custom refers to the German spruce top, the ebony belly bridge, and the dreadnaught body depth. Also has the unbound "haircut" headstock with a pearl logo. Fitted with an endpin jack and an internal pickup. Strap button added at the heel and the guitar is fitted with an internal pickup and endpin jack. Big sound from this guitar. This is a smaller body guitar with a deep body for stellar projection. The sound is all Collings, with beautiful overtones along with bright mids & trebles & very surprisingly pronounced bass. The dreadnaught depth give more punch to the sound, and the German spruce top is a little sweeter and brighter than Sitka or Adirondack. Comes with the original Collings hardshell case.
