(Serial No. 15963) Kind of an odd model name for this fine guitar. This is one of the top of the line for Collings guitars. The 12-fret 000 has the same general appearance as the Collings 00, but in a larger size with longer string scale. Although it's the same width and depth as the OM, the longer body typically produces more bass and overall volume. Has a cutaway Adirondack red spruce top with scalloped bracing, mahogany back and sides, varnish finish, open back Waverly tuners, and a bone nut and saddle. Has a pearl Collings logo in the peghead, with a ebony pyramid bridge and ebony fretboard. Nice low action, neck set is good, frets are fine. 1 3/4 inch nut, 2 1/4 inch bridge spacing, 25 inch scale length, modified V neck profile. Fitted with a LL Baggs Anthem undersaddle pickup with sound hole controls and an endpin jack. Very strong sounding guitar. The short 25 inch scale lets you get around the fretboard quickly while still having the resonance you expect. Very good for fingerstyle and contemporary flat picking work. Strap button added at the heel. Comes with the original very nice Collings hard shell case.
