1915 Gibson F4 Mandolin
(Serial No. 21360) Excellent plus condition. It has spectacular flamey woods on the back and sides, one piece back, pearl double flowerpot logo, bound top and back, inlaid Handel tuners, and a bound ebony fingerboard with treble extension. Original tuners, tailpiece and cover. The bridge is a 1920s era Gibson adjustable bridge and the pickguard is missing. The finish looks like a 1930-1950s era refinish, as the original 1915 finish would be an uniform red. Its a very good refin with none of the original finish showing underneath - perhaps a factory refin? A couple of small top cracks were professionally repaired, one at the treble cutaway and one at the lower treble point. Has good strong volume, and a big woody round tone. Neck is straight, neck angle is good and the frets show very little wear. Here is a short video clip of this instrument. Comes with the original green lined hardshell case.
