1915 Weymann Mandolute Style 30
(Serial No. 17306) Excellent condition. Weymann called this instrument a 'mandolute', but it is an eight string mandolin with a standard mandolin scale length of 13.5 inches (same as a Gibson). Spruce top, flamed maple back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge. The finish and all hardware is original. Plays easily and sounds great with good volume. These are not banjo killers, but they have a very nice tone and are very well built instruments. Chords with open strings just sing out with amazing sustain for a flat top instrument. They record very well, as they seem to have a real evenness from string to string. These are a good choice for classical, old time or Celtic music. Shows a little playing wear but no repairs. Comes with an original(?) hard case.
