(FON 2009) Very good condition. The F2 is the same mandolin as the top of the line scroll F4, but with less fancy cosmetics. This mandolin has black top finish and reddish back and sides, a flamed birch two piece back, inlaid Handel tuners, pearl logo, bound top and bound ebony fingerboard with treble extension. The back of the mandolin has been refinished in clear, which shows off the birdseye back. Nice big woody sound from this mandolin with good bass! The hardware is original but the pickguard is missing. Neck is straight, neck angle is good, the frets were dressed and the mandolin was set up by local luthier Marty Beeson. The big curl on the peghead was apparently knocked off and has been reglued. There are some pick scrapes on the top near the soundhole and some finish checking on the sides and back of the mandolin. F2s are getting harder to find in decent playable condition, and prices are continuing to rise every year. Did I mention that it has really strong tone and volume and plays like butter? Comes with a beater original or a newer hardshell case, your choice.
