1914 Gibson F4 Mandolin
(SN 19576 FON 2223) Excellent condition with a few minor repairs. It has spectacular flamey woods on the back and sides, one piece back, pearl double flowerpot logo, bound top and back, inlaid Handel tuners, and a bound ebony fingerboard with treble extension. Original tuners, tailpiece and cover. The bridge is a 1920s era Gibson adjustable bridge and the pickguard is missing. There are three small top cracks at the stress points (the treble cutaway, the scroll cutaway, and the lower treble point) that were professionally repaired. They are very hard to see. They are located on the edges of the top and not in areas that would cause a problem in the future. Has good strong volume, and a big woody round tone. Neck is straight, neck angle is good and the frets show very little wear. F4s are getting harder to find in decent playable condition, and prices are continuing to rise every year. Did I mention that it has really strong tone and volume and plays like butter? Very good action and tone. Comes with the original hard case.
