1916 Vega Model 205 Cylinder Back Mandolin

(Serial No. 38824) Excellent plus condition, somewhat uncommon sunburst finish. Clean mandolin with only minor playing wear. Has the curved mahogany back and sides, solid spruce top, ebony fingerboard with fancy inlays, abalone soundhole ring, and an inlaid pickguard. Finish and hardware are original with no repairs. Has the usual nicks and dings of a well loved teens mandolin, but nothing major. Has a beautiful sweet sound and plays like silk. Excellent for classical and Celtic music. I'm not completely sure of the year made, but the Vega banjo list - which I think is the same for all Vega instruments - puts this at a 1916. The tuners look right for 1916 as well, so thats what I'm going to call it. Comes with an old original hardshell case.
