(Serial # none) This is an italian bowlback mandolin built by Ermelinda Silvestri from the Catania area of Sicily in Italy. Im guessing on the date. It has a spruce top, flamed maple back and sides, a V shaped neck, an ebony fretboard covered with pearl and abalone,a wonderful carved head for the peghead, and pearl and abalone everywhere. The double banded top inlay is a typical Sicilan feature as is the ornate butterfly scratchplate. The mandolin is completely playable.
