1953 Gibson J45 Guitar
(Serial No. y6296_31) Excellent structural condition showing some typical playing wear. I love early J45s. This is one of those guitars you just want to play for hours once you pick it up. Nice well played and open sounding guitar. Plays nice and easy - its as comfortable as an old pair of boots. The sound just rolls out of this guitar. It is loud, very responsive and open sounding. It really nails the slope shoulder Gibson midrangy dreadnaught sound. Here is a video clip of this guitar as played by Nathan Beaumont. Sunburst finish, spruce top, mahogany back and sides, teardrop pickguard, a 1 11-16 inch nut, Brazilian rosewood fretboard with dot inlays and original Brazilian bridge with fixed saddle. The original Kluson tuners work well. The frets are in excellent shape, the neck was reset by luthier Jack Dillen, and the neck is straight. There is a well repaired back crack which catches a little polish in the pictures. Shows some pick wear and nicks and dings as would be expected with a well loved guitar. Comes with a period hardshell case.
