1955 Gibson J45 Guitar
(Serial No. w2154) Excellent structural condition. This guitar has some serious mojo going on. You can see where a previous owner loved the guitar so much he put some stickers with his name and some inscriptions on the top. The stickers have been removed, but you can still see where this was on the top. I love 1950s J45s - my main guitar is a 1953 J45. This is one of those guitars you just want to play for hours once you pick it up. It is a well played and open sounding guitar with no structural repairs noted. The guitar plays nice and easy - its as comfortable as an old pair of boots. The sound just rolls out of this guitar. It is loud, very responsive and open sounding. It really nails the slope shoulder Gibson midrangy dreadnaught sound. Sunburst finish, spruce top, mahogany back and sides, 1 11-16 inch nut, Brazilian rosewood fretboard with dot inlays and original Brazilian bridge with fixed saddle. The original Kluson tuners work well. The frets were dressed and are in excellent shape, the neck has been reset in the past, and the neck is straight. It plays like silk with excellent volume and that signature Gibson slope shoulder tone. Here is a video clip of this guitar as played by Nathan Beaumont. There are some pick wear and nicks and dings as would be expected with a well loved vintage guitar. Comes with a nice hardshell case.
