1966 Gibson J50 Guitar

(Serial No. 422409) Excellent structural condition showing some playing wear. The J50 is the same guitar as the J45, but with a natural top finish. Otherwise, the guitars are identical. Great sounding guitar with a Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a rosewood fretboard and adjustable bridge. Frets are good, bridges and braces are tight, and the neck set is good. It is loud, very responsive and open sounding. It really nails the slope shoulder Gibson midrangy dreadnaught sound. Here is a video clip of this guitar as played by Nathan Beaumont. Has an 1 11-16 inch nut, Brazilian rosewood fretboard with dot inlays, and original Brazilian bridge with adjustable saddle. The original double line Kluson tuners work well. This guitar has spent its time in the banjo wars and it shows in the pick wear and handling wear. The pickguard is a replacement with pickwear underneath. This guitar has had the sound played into it. Plays nice and easy - its as comfortable as an old pair of boots. The sound just rolls out of this guitar. Comes with a gold lined Gibson hardshell case.
