1972 Gibson J50 Guitar
(Serial No. A248027) Very good condition. This is one of the rarest guitars on the page - a mid 1970's Gibson deadnaught that sounds great! Most of these are complete dogs with no sound. This has has good tone and volume. Gibson made thousands of guitars during their "Dark Age" in the mid 1970s - it stands to reason that at least some of them were good guitars. Its not a prewar AJ but it will do the job. Note that the usually crumbling tortoise binding has been replaced, both top and back, with Gibson style white binding. This is a lot of expensive work - few luthiers will take on this job. Fitted with an undersaddle pickup, soundhole controls and an endpin jack. Someone loved this guitar, took care of it, and made it their own. Mahogany back and sides, Sitka spruce top, 1 11/16 nut, original Kluson tuners, one piece neck, and a sunburst top finish. Plays great with a nice easy low action. Its not just a "good guitar for a 70s Gibson" - its a good guitar, period. Comes with the original hardshell case.
