1991 Gibson L1 Guitar
(Serial No. 93241005) Here is your chance to obtain a modern version of a Gibson L-1 guitar (the guitar model Robert Johnson played), built by Gibsons top luthier. Mint condition. I bought this guitar at auction and I think it must have been owned by a collector who bought it new and put it under the bed in 1991. There is simply NO wear - its a 23 year old new guitar, hand-built by Ren Ferguson, one of Gibsons better known builders. Ren signed the label. All hardware and finish is original. This is the guitar Gibson should have built back in the 1930s. Outstanding sunburst top finish, X-braced Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, 1 11-16 inch nut, Brazilian rosewood fretboard with dot inlays and original Brazilian bridge with fixed saddle. The frets are in excellent shape, and the neck is straight. Its been set up so it plays easy and smooth, with a nice low action. It would be perfect for a fingerstyle blues player. Click here for a video clip of this guitar as played by Nathan Beaumont of the Remedy Tree Band in Brandon FL. Comes with the original brown hard shell case with the pink blanket, also mint.
