1996 Franklin F5 Mandolin(Serial No. 011) Excellent condition. I like small shop builders, and when I saw this at a guitar show I just had to buy it. That was a good decision. I have never before handled a Franklin mandolin, but they apparently know how to build a good one. This model has a dark sunburst lacquer finish, flamed maple back and sides, a solid spruce top, ebony fretboard with diamond pearl positions markers, an ebony bridge with a deer antler saddle, Gotah tuners, fully bound body and peghead, and the body points are abalone. Pearl peghead inlay. Good sounding mandolin thats set up well and has an excellent sound, with woofy chops and clear trebles. The center seam on the top near the tailpiece was reglued so it will not be an issue, although you can see it.
