2001 Smith Creek Mandolin
(Serial No.040) Excellent condition. I recently bought this mandolin, along with the Gibson listed here as well, from a well known professional NC mandolin picker who is buying a Loar. This was one of his go-to stage mandolins. Outstanding voice with very strong volume and tone. Has a deep woofy bass, strong midrange, and glassy high trebles. Beautiful tone and sustain, a singing voice, lots of mid range power and bark. Excellent recording instrument, just quality tone. Classic F5 scroll mandolin with an Adirondack red spruce top, flamed maple sides and one-piece back, Rubner RMp tuners, engraved James tailiece, 1930s style small dark sunburst on the top and the back, just a really great looking, playing, and sounding mandolin. Good bluegrass chop when needed. Click here for a video clip of this mandolin as played by Nathan Beaumont of Brandon FL. Its set up perfectly. Comes with a nice hardshell case
