(Serial No. 40625030) Excellent condition, satin lacquer finish. Very clean mandolin. This is a great sounding mandolin with the strong woody fundamental tone that Gibsons are known for. It has plenty of power to cut a banjo in a jam and it would record beautifully. The tone is nicely balanced around a strong, popping midrange that holds up and down the neck. This would make a wonderful bluegrass or old time mandolin. The mandolin is set up and plays well in all positions with a nice low action. Spruce top, nicely flamed maple back/sides/neck (uncommon in an A9), ebony adjustable bridge, adjustable truss rod, flat fretboard, 1-1/16" nut width. Tuners have been upgraded to top of the line Rubner tuners. It has a few small nicks, dings, and scrapes of most instruments that have been played for 22 years but the mandolin is crack free with no repairs and none needed. Comes with a nice hardshell case.
